  • Queried Minister about decision re: zoning in Galway city
  • Questioned the Taoiseach on why some local authorities are not able to meet the 12 week deadline to assess new social housing applications
  • Asked the Minister about the Vacant Property Refurbishment Grant as I have heard that people are having a hard time accessing it
  • Followed up on in-person Revenue services
  • Requested details on DEIS Gaeltacht scholarships for 2023

Engagements:

  • Met with representative from Tesco to discuss challenges facing businesses and how they are getting involved in local communities
  • Met with new Sinn Féin members
  • Attended live recording of Iris Aniar from Muintearas in honor of Seán Ó Coistealbha

Dáil Work:

  • Questions with Minister Donohue
  • Raised the issue of some businesses in the West not being able to access support from the TBESS due to their use of LPG alongside my colleague Rose Conway-Walsh
  • Published my new SIPO Bill
  • Spoke with the Central Bank about interest rates expected for 2023
  • Discussed whether companies such as Revolut should have a minimum physical presence in Ireland if operating a banking licence with the Central Bank
  • Raised with the Commission on Taxation and Reform the difficulties for SMEs to get funding and the need to ensure they can access credit to support the economy
  • Called on Government to scrap the Coillte deal with the British investment fund
