Local Issues

Housing

The housing crisis is impacting on all families across Galway, be it the person paying record high rents, the young family living in their parents’ home while trying to raise a family of their own, the pensioner who has been on the Housing Waiting List for 10+ years with no offer of a permanent home or the children who’s childhood memories are based in the various B&Bs they have lived in as a result of homelessness. We deserve better.

Health

We all have elderly family members who have had to wait on a hospital trolley in Galway University Hospital when they are ill. This is not fair on the patients and their families and equally it is completely unfair on our hospital staff who want to deliver first class healthcare. As the numbers on trolleys increase greater pressure is placed on our hospitals.

Galway

We are lucky in Galway to have so many natural amenities across the City and County with beautiful beaches, woodlands and a vibrant city. Galway is filled with dynamic communities. We must ensure that we provide the resources required to service those communities be it through the delivery of a regular and reasonable bus service, well serviced community centres and affordable childcare.

“In this ever changing country, we adapt to the surroundings of our local community and strive to bring out the best of our resources to create better future for all.”
